IT TAKES A VILLAGE...

Meeting the basic needs of children is only part of the weight that foster parents carry. One of the most important, but often overlooked, goals of parenting children coming from hard places is for them to feel a sense of connection. Helping these children to feel seen, heard, and bonded is an essential part of caring for them. It can also be one of the most challenging parts. 

Our goal is to create opportunities for foster families to connect with each other, both the children and the parents, as well as create opportunities for the community to connect with these children and families. Foster families are the greatest recruiters of other foster families and by bridging the gap between the two, we hope to see more community awareness and involvement in all aspects of the foster system.

We hope to stay in touch with you via social media and our newsletter with updates about ways for you to connect with community resources and other families like yours! With connection comes belonging and a greater likelihood for healing and thriving…we look forward to fostering that connection with you.

Education Panel

When: Thursday, July 25th, 6:30p-8p

Join Foster Village Memphis for our second annual Education Panel Discussion with local professionals and experienced caregivers. Our panelists will share practical tools and encouragement for the new school year.

Registration for childcare is required, and the deadline is July 19th.

 

 

 

Monthly Caregiver Gathering

When: August 15th, 6:30-8p

Registration will open July 25th. Registration for childcare is required, and the deadine is August 9th.

 

 

 

 

Family Gathering: Back to School Celebration

When: August 17th, 12:30-2p

Join us as we kick off the school year with a fun family gathering! 

Registration will open July 25th.

We will have a limited amount of backpack & school supplies we are only able to provide to kids currently in care. A separate registration is required for each foster child you would like to receive supplies.
